I am not sure if it is the same, but I had a black joystick with my old C64.
Like the one you mention it did not have micro switches but a shaped piece
of metal that got pushed onto contacts depending on the joystick position.
It broke but I was able to cut out a similar shaped item from the bottom of
a baked beans can, not the most high tech of solutions but it worked just
as well as the original one did :o)
